The Hincks Centre for Entrepreneurship Excellence is delighted to launch this inaugural ideas competition for MTU staff and retired staff.
With a growing older population brings great opportunities and challenges for society and the economy. The EU 2020 Strategy calls for citizens in our ageing society to live actively and independently for longer and to continue contributing to society and to the economy … the Silver Economy as it has become known. This rapidly growing silver economy is an untapped market for businesses.
With this in mind, we are setting a challenge and some fun, with great prizes for your chosen charity!

- Highlight a problem/issue related to older people (max 100 words).
- Provide a business idea which could potentially solve this problem/issue (max 150 words).
- Nominate a charity.
Prizes
Four prizes of €200 each will be donted to the nominated charities. The prizes will be awarded for:
- 2 x Best Idea
- 1 x Best Chance of Commercialisation
- 1 x Most Interesting Problem/Issue Identified
Enter as many ideas as you like. Winners will be announced during Innovation Month (March).
