ENACTUS NATIONALS, THE WAY TO THE WORLD CUP

31 May, 2018

Today, 31st May, the ENACTUS National competition will be held in Dublin and, our CIT ENACTUS society will be there.

The ENACTUS CIT society will  compete against ENACTUS societies from other higher educational institutes  throughout Ireland to win the award for the best ENACTUS  Society in Ireland earning the ticket to represent Ireland in San Jose, California at the 2018 World Championship next October.

Like every year, the students from ENACTUS Ireland come together to present and defend projects they have been involved in over the last year. The competition is an opportunity for students to demonstrate how their business skills can support social entrepreneurship and make an impact on society.

ENACTUS CIT will present their project, Renewable Restorations to an expert panel of judges.   This year Enactus CIT have teamed up with the Cork Life Centre with the aim of teaching students new skills and to help develop a sustainable business. The project includes: collecting used bottles glass from local hotels and pubs, facilitating workshops to make the crafts, and selling the finished products.

Also, ENACTUS CIT recently welcomed Margaret Morrissey, Head of HR Abbot Ireland on her first visit to CIT.  Margaret, a board member of ENACTUS Ireland, met with the faculty advisors and the Enactus students offering them valuable advice and tips on this year’s project.

The team has been busy preparing for the competition showing great commitment at this busy time yearfaculty support from Ms Lisa Murphy - Department of Management & Enterprise, the Hincks Centre team and the School of Business.

We wish the ENACTUS CIT team the very best of luck.
