The South Cork Schools Enterprise Programme is an enterprise education programme that aims to provide support to second level schools throughout the South Cork region wishing to embrace entrepreneurial projects and stimulate business skills wishing their schools curriculum. The south Cork Schools Enterprise Programme is funded by the Local Enterprise Office South Cork.
A range of interactive enterprise activities are organised during the schools year to encourage students from 1st – 6thyear to learn more about entrepreneurship and what’s involved in setting up and running a business.
The South Cork Schools Programme runs from September to March. For the winning student Mini-Company, the programme runs until April (The National Final)

More than 400 students from across the South Cork region showcased their mini-companies at the annual South Cork Schools Enterprise Programme Christmas Fair, in the beautiful and modern surroundings of Cork Airport.

Over 45 mini-companies competed to become the Cork Schools Local Enterprise Programme Regional Winners 2015 in UCC on Friday, 6 March, with prizes worth €4000 up for grabs.
400 students from across Cork presented their mini-company business plans, displayed their product or service and showed their overall vision for their company to a panel of judges in the bustling half day event. The overall winners from the event progress on to represent their respective Local Enterprise Office at the national final in Croke Park in April.
A panel of judges, including Isabel Rossiter from the Hincks entrepreneurship centre in CIT, management consultant and mentor with Local Enterprise Office South Cork Joe Kelleher, entrepreneur Ciara Feely and Dr Ian Pickup of UCC will determine the overall winners from each Enterprise Programme.
“Creating entrepreneurs of the future and giving students the skills and confidence to start their own business is fundamental to the Schools Enterprise Programme. We are looking for teams that looked at the project creatively and developed an innovative idea with a realistic strategy to back it up.”, said Adrienne Rodgers, Head of Enterprise, Local Enterprise Office, Cork City.
